Jayme Espinoza

Jayme died at his high school on the track field. He had just finished a two-and-a-half-mile run when he collapsed. His coach thought he had epilepsy because he was convulsing. Jayme’s best friend happened to be on the field and ran up and told the coach he didn’t have anything like that, and to help him. They did CPR until the paramedics arrived, but it was too late.

Jayme had been diagnosed with Supraventricular Tachycardias (SVT) three years before. The family had been told by doctors that Jayme could have a surgical ablation if he did not grow out of the condition by age 18. However, he had just turned 18, and never had the chance to have that procedure done.
